Patroclos is a noble comrade and warrior. Do you agree? Prove your answer by citing details from the book.

Patroclos, the beloved comrade and brother-in-arms of Achilles, is a very close friend of Achilles. A very loyal friend of Achilles.

I agree that Patroclos is a noble comrade and warrior because he fought hard with all his strength slaughtering all of the Trojan forces he encounters. He is very courageous because he fights them without fearing anything. Not even a single fear of death can be trace on his face. He is very brave even Hector felt a little bit of coward because he is very strong like Achilles. He is respected by all and got his position because of his strength.

He forced the Trojans to the city walls, all the way to the gates of troy. He was a little bit stubborn because he disobeyed Achilles. Because of his stubbornness, he was killed by Hector during the fight when Apollo sneaks up behind him and wound him. This wound gave Hector the chance to finish Patroclos easily but without Apollo sneaking up behind him, Hector would not have defeated Patroclos because Patroclos is much more stronger than Hector.

Analyze the character of Achilles as shown in Books 9-11. Are his decisions appropriate for a king like him? Why/ why not? What kind of warrior is he?

In Book IX of the Iliad, Agamemnon maintains that his blindness was an act of the Gods. He plans to set things right with Achilles by giving him a great amount of treasure and returning Briseis, with whom he will swear he never slept. This means that Achilles is being greedy because of the great amount of treasure that will be given to him by Agamemnon just by accomplishing an agreement.

Achilles also fought Hector to seek for revenge for his best friend, Petroclus that was killed by Hector. When Achilles already defeated Hector, he was not yet contented and dragged Hector's body using his chariot. These actions shows that Achilles was very angry to Hector and became very brutal because the man is already dead yet Achilles still dragged his body without mercy. Achilles became merciless because of the death of his best friend.

Achilles decisions is not appropriate for a king because he became barbaric with his actions. If he was crowned to be a king, I predict that he will become a very brutal king or a barbaric king because of his careless decisions. A king is said to be respectful, honorable, brave, full of hope and  trustworthy. His presence should not worry those people who look upon him. They should be filled with hope because they have a very good king and does not fear him.

He's a barbaric but very versatile and strong warrior. He is a reliable warrior in times of war because of his capabilities and what he can do.
